Someone who enjoys and has successfully delivered impact that clients value, and wants to do that at a broader level. Ideal candidates are ready to lead within high-performing teams, and intrigued by a unique consulting model that has all the leading agency skills while not selling agency services in order to consult purely focused on the client’s needs. The Senior Manager, Digital Commerce delivers growth on marketplaces like Amazon, optimizing both product listing (PDPs) and media as well as evolving the digital commerce strategy and D2C opportunity. He or she works in a cross-functional team leading a team of (digital) marketing specialists to identify digital commence growth opportunities for the client and developing a clear strategy on how to deliver those results. The Senior Manager is responsible for leading internal and client teams to successful outcomes with relatively little day-to-day “management” oversight. The Senior Manager is seen as an invaluable member of the client teams, helping move at pace through our “small moves” way of working. In some cases this role guides execution by other agencies or internal client teams, and in some cases by FRWD@Bain. The Senior Manager must objectively solve for each situation while earning trust without turf issues – sometimes including CMOs, CFOs and other agency partners.   Experiences will typically range from very focused media mix and optimization to full transformations across the marketing mix - strategy and audience segmentation, creative, analytics through to delivering results for great brands and clients. We are looking for someone who is excited to share their knowledge with the broader Bain and client teams, and connect the client’s marketing efforts to broader business outcomes. The person must want to help build and foster a healthy and innovative work environment, with a strong team focus and an ability to inject fun and humour even at the busiest times.  FRWD@Bain work is based on deep and rigorous analysis and presenting actionable recommendations based on data and facts, not marketing trends. We work collaboratively with the clients and their partners.

ABOUT US: Bain & Company is a global consultancy that helps the world’s most ambitious change makers define the future. Across 59 offices in 37 countries, we work alongside our clients as one team with a shared ambition to achieve extraordinary results, outperform the competition and redefine industries. We complement our tailored, integrated expertise with a vibrant ecosystem of digital innovators to deliver better, faster and more enduring outcomes. Our 10-year commitment to invest over $1 billion in pro bono services brings our talent, expertise and insight to organizations tackling today’s urgent challenges in education, racial equity and social justice, economic development and the environment. Since our founding in 1973, we have measured our success by the success of our clients, and we proudly maintain the highest level of client advocacy in the industry.    WHAT YOU’LL DO: Bain & Company is seeking to recruit an Expert Consultant to build upon the firm’s Commercial Excellence capabilities in the Americas. This will be a client-facing role that will involve deep interactions with clients as well as working with multiple teams and capability centers across Bain. Bain currently works with its clients to develop a clear GTM strategy including building an in-depth understanding of market opportunity, developing effective GTM sales coverage and capacity models to attack that opportunity, and creating an industrialized sales execution capability to ensure commercial success.  The initial primary focus area of the Expert Consultant will be in supporting market opportunity definition work (i.e. building a deep understanding of opportunity at an individual customer and product level), though this will broaden over time and also include other elements of commercial excellence work.   This person will likely come from a consulting organization where they had a focus on commercial excellence strategy, or having specialized in that area at a more generalized firm.  In addition, the person should have a track record of success in identifying issues, creating hypotheses, executing analysis and managing others in a way that has moved the client to action.  Individuals with industry experience in commercial operations will also be considered, provided they show the ability to develop the consultant skillset.   The person will need to interface with the consulting team manager, the commercial excellence center of expertise (currently based out of India) as well as Bain partners / Expert VPs to deliver in end client engagements and capture IP for ongoing process improvement.  The role would also provide the opportunity to work with Practice / Product leaders to design the optimal approach to product delivery by leveraging the appropriate offshore-onshore model.  The individual would be deployed across ~1–3 different client engagements at any given time supported by the Commercial Excellence Center of Excellence. In all of these deployments, they would be expected to leverage key software tools specifically developed for Commercial Excellence engagements.
