FRWD is a unique digital marketing consultancy with deep hands-on execution skills and experience. FRWD was founded in Minneapolis and has grown a very successful hub in in Bain’s London office and is now launching a hub in Munich to serve clients in DACH and across Europe.

FRWD@Bain is looking for a senior marketing professional eager to take the next step in their career. Someone who enjoys and has successfully delivered business impact that clients value and wants to do that at a broader level. Ideal candidates are ready to lead high-performing teams and are intrigued by a unique consulting model that has all the leading agency skills while not selling agency services in order to consult purely focused on the client’s needs.


The Senior Manager is responsible for leading internal and client teams to successful outcomes with relatively little day-to-day “management” oversight. The Senior Manager is seen as an invaluable member of the client teams, helping move at pace through our “small moves” way of working. In some cases this role guides execution by other agencies or internal client teams, and in some cases by FRWD@Bain. The Senior Manager must objectively solve for each situation while earning trust without turf issues – sometimes including CMOs, CFOs and other agency partners.


Experiences will typically range from very focused media mix and optimization to full transformations across the marketing mix - strategy and audience segmentation, creative, analytics through to delivering results for great brands and clients. We are looking for someone who is excited to share their knowledge with the broader Bain and client teams, and connect the client’s marketing efforts to broader business outcomes. The person must want to help build and foster a healthy and innovative work environment, with a strong team focus and an ability to inject fun and humor even at the busiest times. 

FRWD@Bain work is based on deep and rigorous analysis and presenting actionable recommendations based on data and facts, not marketing trends. We work collaboratively with the clients and their agency and technology partners. Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Lead cross functional teams (2-3 people) of (digital) marketing specialists to drive analysis and recommendations that guide marketing planning, brand strategy through expertise in digital channels / tactics, capabilities (technology and organizational), communications mix and messaging, and decisions on what to scale based on learning and potential relative value
  • Work collaboratively with other Bain consultants, clients, client’s agencies and partners to identify growth opportunities and develop an acceleration strategy and agile “small moves” tests to improve marketing ROI
  • Assess opportunities within existing client accounts and generate insights that feed into overall marketing strategy and drive broader business impact
  • Manage campaigns across paid media channels from forecasting, strategy and campaign development, to execution, optimization, and measurement
  • Communicate insights and opportunities in simple and clear comms that are appropriately tailored to their audience, both in written and oral presentations
  • Determine the right KPI’s based on client goals, ranging from awareness to traffic to online and offline sales ROI
  • Build trust with clients, Bain partners and teams as the marketing expert that solves tough business problems based on deep in-platform experience
  • QA data and analysis with actionable insights as it relates to business goals for reporting
  • Stay cutting edge on innovation and developments within the industry; develop POVs and recommendations on a variety of topics to guide clients and partners
  • The Senior Manager should have broader marketing experience and also be able to lead digital media performance improvement projects across all digital channels


  • 6-8+ years’ experience in digital performance marketing and biddable media
  • You have proven yourself as a (digital) media expert. You bring deep hands on keyboard experience to identify the opportunities and, if needed in the project, to implement them in agile tests
  • You understand the power of digital to transform top and bottom line results by combining the rigorous analysis approach of a leading consultancy with the deep hands-on experience of a marketer that has delivered results on the ground
  • You are passionate about data driven marketing and are able to translate your deep experience into comprehensible explanations to other specialists and members of the C-suite
  • Highly familiar with platforms including Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, Snapchat Ads, Google DV360
  • Certifications (one or more of): Google Ads; Facebook Blueprint, Amazon (e.g. Amazon Advertising)
  • Familiar with analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Experience across multiple industries, understanding industry specific growth drivers but also different client cultures
  • Experience working across markets and with international and diverse teams
  • You have a well-developed understanding of marketing and digital commerce best practices
  • You know great, good and poor when you see it, both in the numbers and the way the team is operating – and have a plan to improve or pivot as needed
  • Proven track record of analyzing biddable media campaigns, identifying optimization potential and delivering ROI improvement
  • Nice to have: experience with digital commerce including advertising and on-site optimization on Amazon and other marketplace platforms
  • Positive attitude, no matter what. You add energy to rooms and teams, help others see possibilities and clarity amidst uncertainty
  • Passion for technology, marketing and its influence on consumer behavior
  • Experience with driving innovation and launching media firsts is a plus
  • European language skills preferred
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site with the client
