  • Overview

    The Coordinator, Americas Benefits will provide administration for the full suite of Bain’s benefit programs for the LA, Washington DC and FRWD offices. The role will focus on employee issues and questions relating to: medical, dental, life, disability insurances, 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts, FMLA/leave of absences, and workers compensation.



    • Main point of contact for administering benefits programs in LA, DC and FRWD offices including medical, dental, life, disability insurances, 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts
    • Support the Benefits Specialist in managing FMLA/leave of absences and workers compensation
    • Serve as primary contact for all new hires; Conduct orientations for all benefits-eligible employees, coordinate the completion of new-hire paperwork. Answer employee questions and effectively resolve claims issues with guidance from the Benefits Specialist.
    • Support the Benefits Specialist in facilitatating the annual open enrollment process, including answering and resolving employee questions and issues
    • Support the Benefit Specialist in coordinating maternity, medical leave, short term disability and other accommodation processes; meet with employees, gather necessary paperwork, ensure Workday is accurate. Team with local HRM and regional benefits on accommodation and tricky issues as they arise.
    • Work with regional Benefits Specialist to ensure that Bain policies and programs are compliant with state and local laws and regulations in California and Washington DC
    • Support the Benefit Specilaist on maintaining miscellaneous benefit vendor relationships (Zipcar, Equinox, Manicube, parking administration, etc); advertise corporate programs and discounts to employees.
    • Ensure all Workday entries for benefits enrollments, changes and leave of absence/status changes are entered and approved in the system on a regular basis.
    • Work with Benefits Specialist to coordinate annual health fairs, including working with vendors and attending the fairs
    • Process benefits related to departing employees (COBRA, departing benefits, etc)
    • Work with Benefis Specialist and local HRM to help facilitate local wellness initiatives
    • Assist with other duties or special projects



    • BA or BS degree required.
    • 2+ years of experience, experience working in professional services and/or HR is preferred.  Bain experience also preferred.
    • Knowledge of California and Washington DC benefit and leave of absence laws/programs preferred
    • Ability to work with all levels within the organization and apply good judgment in resolving sensitive/confidential employee benefit and leave of absence issues.
    • Exposure to 401(k) and benefits administration required.
    • Strong oral and written communication, detail-orientation, analytical and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency with human resources or finance systems. Use of Workday system is a plus.
    • Ability to deal appropriately with highly-confidential information.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
