    Bain Capability Network
    In 2004, the firm established its presence in the Indian market by opening the Bain Capability Center (BCC) in New Delhi. Over the years’ the BCC has played a critical role in augmenting Bain's case teams globally with analytics and research across all industries, for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence as well as Bain intellectual property. On the back of a highly successful model, there is significant need and enthusiasm in expanding the group globally as the Bain Capability Network (BCN).

    About the Role
    As a starting point, this position has the core responsibility to play a programmatic role for the various advanced analytics tools used in Private Equity (PE). This includes working with the Center of Expertize (currently based out of India) as well as Bain managers/partners to deliver the PE product in end client engagement.
    The role would also provide the opportunity to work with the PE Expert VP, as a primary stakeholder, to design the optimal approach to PE product delivery by leveraging the appropriate tools currently available to Bain teams.

    In addition there may be other non PE related tools and delivery where the individual will play a hands on role in delivering in a live onsite engagement.

    The role is expected to be client facing and requires billability targets and travel.


    On PE client work: Clear understanding and experience sharing of tools available in PE to advise case teams on the right tool for their project.

    • Work with various Bain PE Managers/Principals to understand scope of work and provide advice on appropriate tool 
    • Develop and share latest use cases for each tool with Bain PE Managers/Partners
    • Work closely with CoE teams to deliver products using tools for case teams when appropriate
    • Continuously identify new ways of implementing tools with case teams
    • Involve supervisor/Expert VP on complex new situations and help find the right answer

    Beyond specific client work

    • Codify successful tools and approaches and build out new IP for teams to use
    • Diligence new vendors:
      • Identify the right set of vendors based on client needs
      • Schedule demos with the vendors and include the right set of vendors
      • Fill out a scorecard on criteria and suggest shortlist to Expert VP
      • Run process with vendor, Expert VP, Bain Legal team and vendor’s legal team
    • Engage in ongoing dialog with key stakeholders to understand future and changing needs and influence priorities, capabilities and delivery accordingly
    • Proactively suggests solutions; drive new demand for CoE, within and beyond current scope
    • Continuously think of automation across the entire manufacturing process of delivering the product


    • Exert strong positive influence and professional development by leveraging content expertize
    • Constructively engage in mutual feedback process with supervisor and Bain Mangers/Partners
    • Participate in training efforts on various tools


    • 3-5 years of experience in a global professional services/ strategy consulting firm
    • Experience in large data analytics and automation
    • Strong business judgement orientation and experience in private equity
    • Interest in learning technical skills and spearheading the adoption/development tools required for delivery
    • Strong academic credentials, analytical ability and problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills. Ability to drive and influence Partner/Manager level discussions succinctly to favorable outcomes
