  • Overview

    This role participates in or is responsible for projects related to the development, implementation and maintenance of Bain’s ERP system, Workday. This system serves as Bain’s core HR system with related modules in other operating areas such as Finance. Responsibilities include supporting current systems and processes, tracking and detailing user requirements, technical configuration, developing and writing reports, participating in the design and testing of new/enhanced features. The incumbent must be able to research and assess user needs and develop/propose a technical solution. This position works with others on the Workday team as well as multiple functional areas: Local HR teams/Partners, IT project management/developers, Finance, Marketing, Consulting Staff, etc.


    Develop and implement new/enhanced Workday modules

    • Actively participate as a member of cross functional operating team
    • Serve on project teams
    • Gather data and review user needs
    • Translate needs and practices into comprehensive system design
    • Draft system specifications and workflow process
    • Technical configuration of new process and plans
    • Create needed integrations and/or collaborate with IT on necessary integrations
    • Conduct data conversion and system testing
    • Development documentation and/or training materials
    • Prepare and conduct training sessions for HR teams /leadership )
    • Write reports and test data integrity
    • Provide implementation support
    • Field enhancement requests
    • Gather feedback from end users, management and customers
    • Subject matter expert on Workday

    Provide support and maintenance of Workday to ensure optimal user functionality and technical integrity of configurations

    • Change/create new Workday configuration (Workday code) as needed to meet user needs
    • Review and investigate user issues and recommend and implement a solution
    • Maintain documentation of applications, policies, procedures and reporting
    • Maintain training materials
    • Handle production support issues through resolution
    • Provide ad hoc assistance to global users which requires the understanding of user behavior
    • Reporting efforts: work with team management to set priorities, develop, test and roll out new/changed reports
    • Ensure integrity: periodic testing and data checks which requires the understanding of Workday logic/language and the ability to create new logic statements
    • Maintain user security
    • Work collaboratively with other members of the Workday team
    • Other duties as assigned



    • Degree in HRIS or IT with 2-5 years of progressive experience; Workday experience preferred - HRIS experience required
    • Proven strong logic, analytical and technological skills
    • Demonstrated experience with technical configuration and integrations
    • Prior systems implementation or conversion experience preferred
    • Self starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Demonstrated understanding of core accounting concepts and practices and IT concepts
    • Strong communication skills with a customer service orientation and an ability to work well with all levels of the organization
    • High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
