    The Role


    The Finance Analyst will work as an integral part of the global Network team, and will be responsible for providing a holistic overview of department finances, advisor usage and revenues, and coordinating the billing processes.


    Working closely with the Department Director and reporting to the Bain Finance department this role will include the following:


    Performance analysis

    • Provide a holistic overview of department finances through monthly and annual financial analyses and reports, including but not limited to, the overall P&L, advisor revenues & usage by practice/coordinating partner, individual advisor usage/utilisation metrics, etc.
    • Ongoing monitoring of Practice investments in internal advisor usage (IP and Client Development) vs. budget and liaising with Practice leadership
    • Support the Deaprtment Director in review and analysis of advisor revenue forecasts, other revenue cycle trends, and future budgeting as needed


    Billing processes

    • Enter new advisor billing details into the team system, ensure proper tracking of advisors is maintained
    • Ensure accurate and timely charging of advisors to the appropriate business area
    • Receive advisor invoices and coordinate with local Bain accounts payable teams for payment
    • Review & audit invoices to ensure rates charged align with advisor contracts
    • Calculate monthly charges to clients and coordinate with local Bain revenue teams for proper invoicing of advisors to clients
    • Support Bain Partners & Managers on finance requests (e.g. confirming correct billing of advisors, queries of advisors rates & contract details, etc.)
    • Provide budgeting guidance to Practices or offices who will use advisors 

    Ad hoc requests


    • Respond to ad hoc requests as they may arise
    • Assist in annual audit processes for Bain offices by providing information/data (if requested)


    • BA/BSc degree required with concentration in Accounting or Finance related field; high academic achievement required
    • 2-4 years of relevant experience in an accounting and/or finance role strongly preferred
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
    • Strong proficiency with Excel (financial modeling, data aggregation, lookups, etc.), working knowledge of PowerPoint & Word
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with senior Bain management
    • Flexible work-style to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and manage last-minute changes
    • Aptitude to work productively both independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional/mature manner
