  • Overview

    Opportunity to join a new accounting/finance team within a global management consulting firm. The team’s primary focus is on monthly close processes however the team will be heavily involved in special projects.


    • Oversee team responsible for the America’s month end close process.
    • Represent the company as a highly visible customer service representative serving finance leadership, FP&A, HR, leadership, and many others.
    • Work collaboratively with other teams across various specialties to drive process improvements promoted on driving efficiencies across organization.
    • Work closely with senior manager on payroll, international reporting, and shared service center operations as needed.
    • Responsible for aspects of the month-end financial close including meeting with FP&A and others within the organization, reviewing contracts, and performing calculations and analysis to prepare more complex journal entries and analysis.
    • Responsible for reviewing journal entries prepared by staff/senior accountants.
    • Responsible for reviewing balance sheet reconciliations over various and rotating areas.
    • Assist in the preparation and review of analytical procedures such as month-over-month fluctuation analysis, balance sheet, P&L reviews, and other specific analytics.
    • Assist in the preparation of month end reporting packages for senior leadership.
    • Responsible for answering questions about the Company’s financial statement and operational finance performance to others within finance and the business.
    • Maintains controls and process documentation over the financial accounting and reporting process.
    • Assist in the identification of risks and implementation of new controls where necessary.
    • Assist in the audit process performed by internal and external auditors.
    • Responsible for gaining deep understanding of processes and continually assessing and designing new and improved ways of doing things, particularly focused on driving efficiency.
    • Assist in various other operational reporting/regulatory requirements and filings such as sales & use tax, business tax, property tax, etc.
    • Assist in various special other special projects.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
    • Public accounting experience and/or equivalent experience in industry.
    • Approximately 5 years’ experience.
    • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
    • Ability to work independently and self-starter.
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
    • Strong knowledge of risks, controls, and processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, including strong ability to understand your audience and adapt communication to this audience.
    • Strong excel skills.
    • Systems experience, specifically related to efficient use of systems a plus, but not required.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Strong ability to analyze an issue and articulate the issue both verbally and in writing.
    • Willingness to expand range of responsibilities as needed based on the evolution of the Company and the role.
    • Orientation to “roll up your sleeves” to do what it takes to meet commitments.
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
    • Enthusiastic team player and ability to maintain sense of humor and positive attitude throughout all situations.
