  • Overview

    This position is involved with the planning and implementation of business system projects for Talent Management (Human Resources, Recruiting, Bain Executive Network, Partner Services and Training).  This person, along with the team they manage, will bridge the gap between technology and the business by managing all technical phases of business system projects.


    • Manage development of Talent Management system projects, identifying when changes are required and recommending methods for improving Talent Management technology.
      • Collaborate with senior Talent Management leadership on system strategy and change management needs
      • Analyze and synthesize business requirements, conduct comprehensive vendor research and advise on technical solutions
      • Manage relationships with software vendors and lead communication of program enhancement requests
      • Facilitate the creation of business requirements, process flows, use cases and screen mock-ups
      • Liaise with IT and stakeholders to ensure technical solution will satisfy business needs
      • Manage technical and tactical planning: define priorities and objectives; communication, system dependencies, critical path to launch, risk assessment/mitigation, test planning, training strategy, rollout and project closure
    • Plan and prioritize system projects according the the  Talent Management system roadmap and objectives, recommending trade-offs and re-prioritization as necessary
    • Monitor technology trends and research new technology in the Talent Management space and make educated recommendations for system improvements
    • Manage the Talent Management Systems Team, including setting team vision, resource planning, and ensuring continuous education of cutting-edge technology and techniques
    • Mentor and educate project teams on technology options, effective system support models and change management practices 


    • Bachelor’s degree required with a strong academic record
    • 7+ years of professional work experience in a systems related role with practical experience in gathering and interpreting user needs, and defining, documenting and validating requirements
    • Demonstrated ability to strategize and collaborate with senior leadership
    • Demonstrated ability to creatively use technology to solve complex business problems
    • Expertise in project management with the ability to lead all phases of system implementation projects, strategy to post-launch
    • Experience managing vendor research and relationships
    • Experience working in a matrixed environment
    • Superb problem solving and analytical capabilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in effective change management techniques
    • Experience managing and coaching direct reports
