As a member of the Boston Recruiting team, the Recruiting Associate will provide administrative support to the Consultant Recruiting team. The Recruiting Associate will assist in the planning and execution of global and local on-campus Summer Associate (SA) and Consultant (CON) and recruiting efforts across Core School MBA campuses and the Boston office.


Event Planning and Execution

  • Plan global events for Consultants and Summer Associates at targeted business schools including venue selection, contract coordination with Bain Legal and Finance and other logistics; specifically including the Tuck School of Business
  • Manage event invites, student sign up, scheduling and RSVPs
  • Attend recruiting events (often outside of the office) and execute event details such as name tags, food and beverage and place cards
  • Work with team and global office recruiters to assist with logistics for interview days, including food, space, travel, and materials
  • Assist in screening logistics, including resume reviews, scheduling students, creating recruit folders, name tags and Bain interviewer packets using Avature (Bain Recruiting System), booking travel and sending confirmations

Communication Management 

  • Communicate & correspond with recruits on a regular basis. Maintain incoming inquiries, applications, and generate appropriate responses in a timely manner
  • Support external marketing communications with School Career Development Offices and Clubs including email campaigns, invitations, campus flyers and room bookings on campus
  • Maintain regular communication with other Bain offices regarding logistics for marketing and interviewing events and act as the on-site coordinator/representative
  • Provide clear, timely responses to consulting staff involved in recruiting (e.g., interviewer schedules, managing commitments, recruiting events, etc.)

Other Logistics Support

  • Assist in commitments process for all SA/CON recruiting events, helping the recruiting coordinator(s) as needed
  • Utilize recruiting system (Avature) for data entry, event management & reporting in a timely & accurate manner
  • Assist with recruit expense reimbursements as needed
  • Attend team meetings and schedule follow-up meetings as necessary
  • Support relationship management process, focusing on identification of priority recruits and facilitating connections with Bain employees
  • Monitor and proactively maintain recruiting supplies, including marketing materials and office supplies
  • Perform other administrative duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate


  • BA/BS required
  • 1 year of administrative and/or Recruiting support experience, preferably in a professional services firm, or combination of educational and work experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written/verbal communication, customer service and organizational skills
  • Comfort interacting with recruits, vendors, and Bainies of varying tenure
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS and database skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong customer service focus
  • Flexibility with hours; ability to work overtime and evenings as needed
