This position will support the Americas Industrial Goods & Services Practice Area. The Knowledge Specialist will work within a global Practice Team, reporting to the Americas IG&S Knowledge Team Leader (primary) and Global/Americas IG&S Practice Director (secondary). The preferred location for this position is Chicago, Dallas or Houston.
IG&S is Bain’s largest practice area globally, and one of the fastest growing practices in the system. IG&S is comprised of 13 diverse but still highly interconnected sectors, including Energy ( Oil & Gas, Utilities), discrete manufacturing (Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Machinery & Equipment), process manufacturing (Chemicals, Agribusiness, Packaging, Building Products), transportation (Airlines, Logistics), and Metals/Mining.
Career path exists to earn promotion to Senior Knowledge Specialist, and subsequently to Knowledge Team Leader. Promotion will depend on an individual’s performance, and criteria & expectations for each role reflect differential capabilities.
Supports the Americas IG&S Practice Area Director as they develop Practice Strategy and manage Practice Operations
Assists development of regional Practice plan and revenue/expense budget
Tracks Americas pipeline and analyzes underlying drivers of practice revenue growth
Supports content planning and logistics for annual practice meetings
Assists with practice affiliate communication, including experience sharing calls
Supports Bain brand building efforts as needed (coordinating with Marketing)
Serves as a member of Bain’s global PPK team: Contributes to global improvement projects, cross-practice collaboration, training, experience sharing, mentoring and other initiatives.
