Based in any of Bain’s APAC offices (preference for Singapore or Greater China, where other Bain lawyers are currently based), this role supports the attorneys in Bain’s Legal Group in reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal contracts in English and ideally another Asian language (Japanese highly desired).

  • Review, draft and negotiate legal contracts in English and ideally another Asian language, including:
  • consulting engagement agreements,
  • confidentiality agreements,
  • vendor contracts,
  • various other types of agreements
  • Directly negotiate and/or support the negotiation of an agreement acceptable to Bain
  • Communicate your assessment of the legal issues in an agreement to internal clients and/or one of the senior lawyers on Bain’s legal team in a clear and concise manner
  • Coordinate review and comment by other departments
  • Review and prepare RFP responses
  • Support other members of Bain’s legal team on special projects


  • Business fluency in English and is essential
  • Business fluency in another Asian language, especially Japanese, would be highly desirable
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years’ experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in a law firm or in-house setting
  • Good academic background from a leading law school
  • Legal qualification in country of practice
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly-developed organizational skills and be articulate, detail oriented and hard working
  • Ability to work independently, but within a team-focused environment
  • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in servicing global clients preferred
