Knowledge Specialists belong to our “Product, Practice & Knowledge” department, whose primary task is to lead Knowledge Management activities globally for Bain. Knowledge Management is critical to harness the best of our consulting staff’s individual and collective expertise, and to make it available to our broader firm. The ultimate objective of this group is to help partners to be commercially impactful, and teams to be effective and efficient at serving their clients. As such, Knowledge Specialists play a critical role in supporting Bain’s ability to deliver outstanding insights and results for our clients.

This position is a full-time position located in Paris, supporting our Consumer Products (CP) & Retail practice areas in the EMEA region, reporting to a Knowledge Team Leader in Paris, and sitting within a larger global Practice Team. We require fluency in French and English.



  • Products & Retail
  • Assists with proposal development in select situations e.g. customized experience slides


  • Supports the EMEA Consumer Products & Retail Practice Area team as they in turn support and/or drive the development of Practice Strategy and the management of Practice Operations
    • Contributes to the development of the annual practice strategic plan and budget for region
    • Tracks and analyzes underlying drivers of practice revenue growth
    • Supports content planning and logistics for annual practice meetings
    • Assists with practice affiliate communication, including preparation for experience sharing calls
    • Updates affiliate distribution lists and tracks experts
    • Supports Bain brand building efforts, as needed (in coordination with Marketing)


  • Supports new product development and deployment efforts, as needed
  • Manages new content processing and updates to Intranet
  • Ensures internal product teams have best content at the beginning of the effort
  • Collects input on further product needs as expressed by Bain consulting teams


  • Serves as a member of Bain’s global Product, Practice & Knowledge team, acting in accordance with Bain’s Operating Principles:
    • Contributes as a member of a larger team (e.g., participates in Product, Practice & Knowledge group projects, training, experience sharing, mentoring and other initiatives)
    • Regularly communicates issues and progress to Practice Area Manager as required (including quality control of junior team member’s output)
    • Demonstrates flexibility with the changing demands of industry, the Leadership team, commercial demand for varying products
    • Liaises with others as necessary, including members of other global services departments


  • BA, or equivalent undergraduate degree required with strong academic credentials
  • 2-3 years of experience in a professional services firm environment, or in a Consumer Products or Retail company
  • Interest in the Consumer Products & Retail sectors, coupled with some existing awareness of sector trends and players strongly preferred
  • Passion for business issues; ability to grasp complex topics as relevant to the Consumer Products & Retail sectors
  • Attentive to detail and very organized
  • Intellectual curiosity and thirst for learning
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously, whilst appreciating guided coaching
  • Superior customer service attitude and ability to contribute on a team
  • Positive mindset; high levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • Excellent written and verbal ability in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Power Point, and Word, and ideally in Alteryx and Tableau
