Bain and Company is seeking a Regional Marketing Project Manager to join the Americas marketing team. This new role will play a critical role in refining our regional marketing strategy and accelerate innovation, with responsibility for building and leading a team focused on driving marketing initiatives for Bain practice area and product leaders.  


Working in close collaboration with a wide range of Bain teams, the Regional Marketing Project Manager will identify and prioritize new opportunities, establish and leverage best practices and drive continuous improvement.  This may include designing general and exclusive executive gatherings, establishing and cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with third parties, building training and other work products and completing other special projects as needed for the regional marketing director. 


He/she will work closely with the Director of Americas Marketing to refine Bain’s regional strategy in support of Bain’s fundamental marketing objectives, namely building awareness for the firm and our products, deepening relationships and reinforcing the credibility of Bain’s leaders, practices and capabilities. Overall, this role will be pivotal in shaping how the firm establishes and expands Bain’s relationship with clients, prospects and alumni.


Regional practice strategy development:  The Regional Marketing Project Manager will collaborate with Practice Area leadership, global and local office marketing teams to develop marketing strategy that effectively targets Bain clients, prospects, alumni and other critical influencers.   As part, they will originate analyses (and oversee their execution) to inform alumni and marketing investment.  Based on results, they will promote experience sharing, advocate specific strategies and create relevant training (or other development assets) for Bain marketing teams and frontline leadership to continually improve firm marketing efforts.

Project management:  He/she will be responsible for the outcomes of specific marketing initiatives to include regional marketing campaigns with numerous activities across multiple channels (e.g., conferences, Bain hosted events, media, etc.) occurring in parallel.  
Responsibilities to include:

  • Defining project objectives, budget and metrics to evaluate efficacy
  • Using internal and 3rd party data to identify target audiences 
  • Building comprehensive workplans and teaming with other Bain stakeholders as needed to successfully execute (e.g. Digital marketing, local office marketing teams, PR, etc.)
  • Recommending action to specific leaders, managing spend and representing Bain to clients, partners and vendors
  • Ensuring flawless execution of all projects: On time, within budget and achieving objectives

Team leadership and talent development: The Regional Marketing Project Manager will drive these efforts leveraging a dedicated team that they will recruit, coach and develop. 

  • Provide day-to-day management and direction to a team of 2-3 focused on Bain’s regional priorities. Cultivate strong collaboration and teamwork across the group.
  • Manage the professional development of team members through skill planning, formal and informal coaching, and performance feedback
  • Communicate effectively with partners, practice areas and local marketing teams

The successful candidate will have a track record of developing expert status, a network of client/colleague promoters, and demonstrated “fit” with Bain culture. In addition:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with bias for action and strong teamwork, customer service and problem solving skills
    • Minimum of 5 years of project or program management experience, to include people leadership 
    • Preferably in management consulting, corporate strategy, or analogous professional services sector
  • Demonstrated ability to team with peers and senior leaders to identify opportunities, build consensus and employ best practices to achieve objectives
    • Experience contributing to business strategy definition and implementation
    • Ability to design analytics, synthesize results to inform future efforts
  • Track record of identifying, recruiting, managing and developing talent
  • Ability to team with numerous stakeholders in parallel, developing advisor perception and building mutually beneficial relationships (including in remote or virtual models) 
  • Familiarity with consulting industry or analogous professional services sectors
  • Proficiency with office and marketing technologies, CRM experience preferred 
  • English required, other languages (e.g. Spanish) desirable 
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on business, management or marketing, MBA preferred
  • Preferably based in Boston, Chicago, New York or Bay Area but not a prerequisite, able to travel (primarily domestically) as needed
