Overview

Bain and Company is seeking a Sr. Manager of Online Campaigns & Innovation to join the Global marketing team. This new leadership role will foster innovation for Bain’s digital marketing with responsibility for managing a small team focused on developing, producing and executing digital marketing campaigns for Bain’s thought leadership, products and practice areas.

 

Working in close collaboration with a wide range of Bain’s teams, the Sr. Manager of Online Campaigns & Innovation will use innovative digital marketing techniques, content, formats and channels to engage Bain’s target audiences. He/she will work closely with the Director of Digital Marketing to refine and articulate Bain’s digital campaign strategy in support of Bain’s fundamental marketing objectives, namely building awareness for the firm and our products, deepening relationships and reinforcing the credibility of Bain’s leaders, practices and capabilities. This role will be pivotal in shaping how the firm leverages digital technologies to engage with Bain’s clients, prospects, recruits and alumni.

Responsibilities

Digital marketing campaigns: The Sr. Manager of Online Campaigns & Innovation will engage with relevant Bain teams to develop, produce and execute digital marketing campaigns for our global audiences that achieve Bain’s business objectives and deliver high impact results. He/she will be responsible for managing a pipeline of digital campaigns focusing on Bain’s published thought leadership content and on Bain’s practice areas, products, approaches and capabilities. Campaign elements may include:

  • Bain.com ads and promotions
  • Digital mailings & newsletters
  • Digital advertising
  • Paid search
  • Organic search (SEO)
  • Microsites
  • Infographics
  • Interactive graphics & data visualizations
  • Digital storytelling
  • Social media

Digital innovation: The Sr. Manager of Online Campaigns & Innovation will collaborate closely with a wide range of Bain’s teams, including practice areas, editorial, PR, product marketing and local office teams, working to engage Bain’s target audiences using innovative and engaging digital marketing techniques, formats and channels. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide digital design leadership and create a culture of innovation and experimentation within the digital marketing team
  • Stay current on the latest digital marketing tools, formats, channels and partners. Establish and maintain a suite of go-to digital marketing platforms/tools that can be used on a repeatable basis in support of Bain’s digital marketing. Monitor trends in digital marketing relevant for professional services and work to apply best practices
  • Promote a user-centric mindset for digital marketing, integrating UX/UI design thinking into Bain’s creative work and establishing a culture of test-and-learn to inform and shape campaign and content investments
  • Cultivate relationships with Bain’s Technology Services Group (TSG), Advanced Digital and Product Team (ADAPT), Advanced Analytics Group (AAG) and external vendors and freelancers, evaluating and determining appropriate in-house/outsource solutions as needed

Test and learn: In the role, the Sr. Manager of Online Campaigns & Innovation will be tasked with measuring the performance of Bain’s digital marketing campaigns and establishing an ongoing test-and-learn program to test hypotheses and inform/refine Bain’s digital campaigns.

  • Uncover insights and actionable recommendations through the tracking and analysis of web/digital activity
  • Share findings with internal teams and business leaders to inform ongoing and future digital campaigns

Team management & coaching:

  • Provide day-to-day management and direction to a team of 3-5 focused on Bain’s digital marketing campaigns. Cultivate strong collaboration and teamwork across the group
  • Manage the professional development of team members through skill planning, formal and informal coaching, and performance feedback
  • Provide training and guidance to global/local marketing teams on UX design, SEO and relevant tools, channels and platforms
  • Communicate effectively with partners, practice areas and local marketing teams

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a track record of break-through client results, a network of client/colleague promoters, and demonstrated “fit” with Bain culture. In addition:

  • Thought leader on the latest and “up and coming” digital marketing tools, platforms, approaches, channels and potential partners for Bain to consider
  • Highly motivated self-starter with bias for action and strong teamwork, customer service and problem solving skills
  • Broad range of hands-on direct project experience within digital marketing
  • Experience making recommendations and implementing new technology and tools within an enterprise organization
  • Highly organized and with experience in collaborating with UI/UX Designers and web developers
  • Solid understanding of business strategy and ability to make connections to the digital environment
  • Experience and track record of building and managing small entrepreneurial teams within larger established organizations
  • Experience managing 3rd party design, engineering and other technical or creative partners
  • Outstanding organization and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Communications or a related field
  • 7-10 years of professional business experience in digital marketing or interactive content production required
  • Professional services firm or advertising agency experience highly desirable
