Bain's Next-Generation Product Management (NGPM) team has been set up to help Industry and Capability practice areas turbocharge their Products, enabling our intellectual property in new ways. We focus on four "lenses": Technology, Tools and Analytics; Benchmarks and Databases; Delivery Models & Partnerships; and Visual Design & Marketing.

 

This more holistic approach to case delivery takes us beyond the typical small team set-up, PowerPoint, and Excel. The result is a greater ability to sell cases effectively, serve clients efficiently, and drive capability transfer. Examples of tools recently launched by the NGPM team include the Bain Integrator, the Bain Org Navigator, the Bain Org Architect, the Bain Spend Cube, and Justinmind.

 

The NGPM team is seeking a Manager to reinforce the team in a permanent capacity.  The team manager will coordinate efforts across the four-lens framework and lead the Next-Gen team in the development of new tools and technology.

 

Responsibilities

Lead the NGPM team in developing Bain's Next-Gen Product and manage senior stakeholders within the firm and externally. The NGPM team consists of 2-4 permanent Project Managers and 3-6 rotational consulting team members across locations globally.

 

  • Coordinate and manage the pipeline of new ideas and tools/initiatives under development
  • Align with senior Bain leadership and external vendors to ensure delivery of NGPM
  • Drive and continue to develop Bain's Next-Gen Product Management strategy
  • Manage senior-level stakeholders and interface with other Bain departments
  • Balance tasks and responsibilities within NGPM team
  • Coach and manage professional development of NGPM team members
  • Identify opportunities for improving NGPM delivery and portfolio management
  • Support team members in identifying and mitigating key delivery risks and roadblocks
  • Manage relationships and drive negotiations with key vendors and overall vendor roadmap and portfolio
  • Liaise with practice leadership and tool sponsors to ensure delivery of key tools / initiatives
  • Represent NGPM at internal events, presenting NGPM and relevant tools
  • Take a holistic view of the NGPM portfolio within the broader Bain strategy

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • BA or equivalent undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials
  • 5+ years in a strategy consulting environment (Bain alumni ideal)
  • Proven ability to lead teams
  • Strong abilities in problem definition and problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels within Bain and at client
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English

 

DESIRABLE

  • MBA or other graduate degree
  • Interest in or experience with product development, innovation, process management and/or software / technology is a plus
